Many people would say that the last four months of the year is the best (I don’t know any of these people, but I’m sure they’re out there somewhere). Since our last post was in April, we clearly have a lot of catching up to do. For May-August, take a look at Little Tiger’s site to get caught up, and then come back to this site to see what we were up to in the last four months of the year.
To end the 2017 calendar year, we got a chance to do a lot of new things: from taking a dip in the lazy river at Harrah’s, to our first visit to Huntington Library, to spending a night on the USS Midway, and finally, to having the kids take their first art class, 2017 was capped off with a lot of great adventures. That being said, in 2017, we also made a few unwanted visits to the hospital. From Tiger’s unexpected bout of food poisoning after our cruise, to Horse’s “I never want to go through that again in my life” fight with eczema herpeticum, we had enough drama, worry, and concern to last us many years.
Thanks to their Uncle, we made our first (and hopefully not last) visit to Harrah’s. Of course, I only agreed to go for the kids and not anything else.
One of them got their Yellow Belt, while the other one is clearly on his way to getting his first belt
Huntington Library? Who knew this place existed, and better yet, who knew it was so close to our house?
Crazy hair day for one, becomes crazy hair day for two!
Days spent at a park never gets old. Baby Horse even tried his first trampoline-like ride during the festivities.
This has officially become a tradition. We got the kids all dressed up and marched them down to the Irvine Railroad Park for some pictures and pony rides (which is a first for Baby Horse!)
When in Hollywood, do as the Hollywoodeans…or something like that. Our first concert at Hollywood Bowl and it was to see the Zac Brown Band. I’m not sure how much the kids liked the music, but Baby Horse sure did like running up and down the escalator!
Nothing screams backache like the USS Midway and having to sleep overnight on the decommissioned battleship for a YMCA event. It was all worth it as Little Tiger had a blast with his friends.
No birthday parties until 10 years old didn’t seem to apply when we decided to have a mini-semi-party for Little Tiger at D&B
Christmas Eve and Christmas are always the best (especially when you don’t have to travel)
Art classes at the mall? Sign me up, better yet, sign the kids up so that they have something to do while I shop.
A rough way to end the year with a doctor’s visit, but like all things with kids, they manage to fight through it all and still have a smile on their face.
